Vice President, Retail Brand Development

The Vice President, Retail Brand Development will be responsible for researching, preparing, presenting, negotiating and securing brand partnerships with iconic retail brand partners. These brand partners would include department stores, big box specialty stores, grocery and super drug and mass retail partners, many of whom would be found on the Top 100 Retailers listing.

The Vice President, Retail Brand Development bears responsibility for the strategic relationship with all retail brands and works closely with our Brand Expansion and Channel teams to develop long term, scalable partnerships that meet or exceed ZoomSystems’ financial metrics. This position reports directly to the EVP, Corporate Strategy & Brand Development.

The individual who will excel in this position has had primary responsibility for large national account relationships and will possess the necessary excellent communication, interpersonal, strategic thinking, analytical and problem solving skills. Experience in executive retail management is required. Brand building and marketing skills are crucial and candidate must be a proven, effective leader and great team player.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Brand Management

    • Identify key retail verticals and the leading brands within in each. Take the lead on research and qualify those partners most likely to be a scalable partner
    • Initiate research (consumer, market & direct) to identify brands and concepts that will achieve successful scale
    • Identify long-term growth opportunities by brand/concept/channel
    • Seek out new business opportunities with existing brand partners and play a leading role in their development
    • Form relationships and maintain direct contact with the brands
    • Provide brand partners with clear access to executive management
    • Ensure brand partners’ needs are properly and efficiently staffed
  • Brand Account Team Partnership
    • Support  Brand Managers in transition from development to expansion
    • Maintain strategic support role in relationship with Retail Brands
    • Participate in weekly Brand calls as necessary and appropriate
    • Take the lead on ensuring quarterly Retail Brand management update
  • Marketing and Merchandising
    • Participate, review and approve concept development for each Retail Brand (planogram, custom aesthetic, signage/graphics, user interface, advertising and marketing content)
    • Participate and review marketing programs (advertising, promotion, PR) that increase awareness, drive traffic and customers to ZoomShop locations (seasonal, holiday etc…)
  • Financial Planning
    • Develop Retail Brand & ZoomSystems performas to ensure both parties achieve their economic models
    • Refine weekly, monthly and year to date sales and performance reporting
    • Review and approve financial modeling by channel/by brand (pro forma)
    • Analyze and report performance of key metrics (sales, gross margin conversion rate, screen touches) to senior management
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience in one of the following areas: VP/Director Business Development, VP/Director National Sales, VP/Director Merchanding; VP/Regional Stores; VP Brand Management
  • At least 3 years experience managing Retail Brand relationship/account
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus, but not required
