Retail Brand Manager

The Retail Brand Account Manager is the key relationship manager for Zoom’s signed retail brand partners. This position reports directly to the SVP, Brands and Marketing.

The Retail Brand Account Manager will possess demonstrated leadership and management skills.  He or she will be an excellent negotiator whose skills have been honed through a minimum of three years of retail buying experience.

 

Strong communication skills and the ability to listen and value others’ opinions will characterize the selected candidate.  The position requires this executive to write well and to be comfortable interacting with Business Development, Marketing, Creative Services, Operations, Engineering, Channels and Finance.  Strong organization skills and analytic abilities are essential for this manager. This manager will be selected on the basis of his or her ability to perform the tasks outlined in this profile, as well as his or her ability to work with and support the initiatives and objectives of Zoom Systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Merchandising:

    • The Retail Brand Account Manager must be highly creative and motivated to seek new and innovative ideas to drive the business.
    • Creation of key merchandising concepts for viable channels of distribution (hotel, airport, retail).
    • Develop and manage execution of creative merchandising strategies that increase business while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction. 
    • Development of mark-up strategy and execution of retail pricing revisions to ensure competitive pricing and maintain acceptable inventory turnover.
    • Initiate presentation direction as it relates to ZoomSystems planograms.
    • Sourcing and developing new products via trade shows, trade publications, magazines, internal brainstorming, and contact with new and existing vendors. 
    • Develop perspective on trends and reflect this perspective in merchandise offerings.
    • Pro-actively respond to changing business conditions and maximize trends, or emerging businesses.
    • Communicate to the appropriate partners pertinent information that affects daily merchandising functions.
  • Financial planning and forecasting:

    • Develop:
        • Monthly forecasts and actuals.
        • Seasonal and financial department plan
        • Seasonal and unit assortment plans.
        • Achieve department sales plans, manage turnover and manage vendor profitability
    • Strategic Planning:
      • Set objectives for business development by category/classification/vendor.
      • Identify long-term growth opportunities by category/ classification/vendor.
    • Vendor Relations

      • Negotiate aggressively with consideration to mutual profitability and growth
      • Develop key resources to meet long-term needs
      • Negotiate for vendor compliance support to meet logistics objectives
      • Communicate expectations to vendors
Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in Merchandising, Stores, Account Management and/or Brand Management
  • Retail Buying and Store Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred)
