Nespresso’s continuous quest for innovation led them to retain ZoomSystems to help them to create the first digital and fully automated Nespresso boutique, providing consumers with easy and convenient access to their products.
ZoomSystems worked closely with Nespresso to design a a unique automated retail concept, bringing a new personalised shopping experience and exclusive service to consumers. The Nespresso Cube went from concept to prototype to the first installation in Barcelona International Airport in just 15 months.The boutique kiosk is monitored and operated by ZoomSystems.
The automated boutique includes a touch screen interface for customers to choose one of any permanent Grand Cru or Limited Edition coffees. which are then delivered to the customer via five independent robotic arms that can process custom orders of 10 different sleeves in less than 20 seconds. The Nespresso Cube stocks 25,000 capsules (2,500 sleeves of 10 capsules). It has a window in back, allowing shoppers to see orders being prepared. Nespresso Club Members can use their Club Card to make a purchase and to retrieve their previous order for faster service.
The Cube allows Nespresso to expand its retail network in new premium locations, while continuing to offer a sophisticated brand experience. It embodies the company’s latest step in introducing new services that match the contemporary living and shopping preferences, and desire for increased convenience and choice of its consumers.
While boutiques remain at the heart of the Nespresso retail strategy, this new sophisticated concept will complement the boutique network, bringing the Nespresso experience in new locations.
